As far as surprises go in games, this one has a good deal of them, and they’re nice, even amusing at times. In some levels there are pool 8 balls that will bop you until you fall off of a platform, some tracks have very strange physics, others have giant fans blowing you off passageways, giant saw blades will shred you, and more, a lot more. Not only is each one different, but they all also come with new danger mechanics that make you mess up. Each new level comes with different surprisesĪpart from the cuteness of racing hamsters in very fragile balls, you get the casual game thrill of going through some fairly creative levels. This is not intended to be one but it can certainly be played so. Zhu Zhu Pets is a very good game for those who enjoy the challenge of speed run games. However, the difference is in how fast you get to move, not that you finish a race. Luckily, there is more than enough time to complete a race even if you’re going to be really bad at it. The hamsters all race in the same way and every race is against the clock. In Zhu Zhu Pets, you get a wide assortment of hamsters to choose from, each one with a unique look, obviously. Race fragile hamsters on treacherous tracks In this casual game, you will have to race hamster balls, with actual hamsters in them, across some pretty crazy tracks. Don't let time wash away the sins and accomplishments of history.Zhu Zhu Pets is an arcade-style game that’s both humorous and challenging at the same time. All in all, a good game if you can find it for cheap. I later found out the hat was a power up I could find! Xenoblade wishes it could have this level of foreshadowing.

I selected Scoodles to play as because he had a hat but in the gameplay, he did not wear the hat. The story itself is basic, not as good as the last of us but I suppose all games fall short in one way or another. This wonderful story and gameplay integration really makes you feel like a zhu zhu pet. I haven't even touched on the story yet! More or less a bunch of mean guinea pigs, the "wild bunch" the game is titled after, want to play tag so throughout the levels you can choose to hunt them down and convert them to being nice. There are around 20 playable characters, so that is also pretty cool. The final level of each world has a cool race in it too. The final world even brings back elements from previous levels which is a fun touch. These levels are populated with interesting and unique power ups that are all well designed. This really fits the collectible based nature of the game. The levels are more made like giant rooms or McDonald's play places almost than "get to the right" levels. The six worlds all have unique themes, and the stages and graphics are very pretty. While we talk about the collectibles, let's mention the levels they are found in. There are plenty of rewards for collecting things as well. Every level also just has a key in it, grab it and take it to the end and you can finish the level as fast or as slow as you want with no real requirement for the collectibles. There is so so much to do in this game if you want. Every level has a ton of collectibles, which is great for completionists. You choose how engaged you are with the game. I tell you this because of one thing the game does best. I spent 4.5 hours on this game to beat it with few collectibles. Final complaint is the game is very easy, but that also makes it good for kids. On level 4-6 some of the CPU's froze which is a large problem for a racing level. Sometimes things in the background looked like foreground or interactable things but they weren't. There are some long load times and frame drops, but those aren't frequent. Every song sounds exactly what you'd expect, such as the carnival themed level being reminiscent of Julius Fucik's "Entry of the Gladiators" from 1897. The narrator is annoying, and the soundtrack is generic. So where else to began than with them? Let us start with the complaints I had, as ending with them leaves you on a negative note while I want you to have a positive take away. To give a truly accurate review of this game, I took several notes as I played. I can change how history looks back at this licensed shovel ware that is to be lost to the ages in this world filled with disc rot. I have the power to control the rating that this game holds. As I write this, 3 reviews sit on this game. What does the power of a hamster do to a man? What little power does it take to go to one's head? I ask you this question as we embark on this What does the power of a hamster do to a man? What little power does it take to go to one's head? I ask you this question as we embark on this journey.
